What is the purpose of WFC basketball?
Warriors for Christ (WFC) was established for two purposes. First, we are committed to the task of the Great Commission. Through our weekly focus moments and our team meetings before and after practices and games, we hope to give each player the opportunity and knowledge to become a follower and disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ. Second, we seek to provide a competitive sports outlet for homeschool families in the greater St. Johns area.
Who can play for WFC basketball?
Anyone who is homeschooled and under the age of 19 as of August 1 of the upcoming school year. See our WFC guidelines for the player eligibly and team breakdowns.
We are members of Michigan Home School Sports Association (MHSSA). Please review their website for transfer information and league expectations.

Our program runs 2 nights a week October through February. Practices are held Tuesdays & Thursdays beginning in October. Once games begin in November, the practices are adjusted to maintain only 2 nights a week. JV and Varsity teams have a third night on the schedule for additional practice, typically this falls on Monday evenings. We do not schedule on Sundays or Wednesdays. Please review our schedule to better understand how this plays out.
This program 100% volunteer run; no one is paid for their time. Please work alongside us to provide coaches, score keepers, admissions, concessions, and other needed roles throughout the year.

What are the costs for WFC basketball?
Our registration fees are listed on the registration forms. The registration fee covers: immediate family admission to home games, uniforms, gym rentals fees, and referee expenses. Optional WFC shirts are available at the beginning of the season for players, family & fans.
Do you offer family discounts?
Yes! Please see our registration forms for cost breakdown.
Are there any fundraising opportunities?
At this time we do not have an organized fundraiser. We have had very successful bottle drives in the past! If you would like to pursue a fundraiser, please reach out to us at [email protected]
Through admissions & concessions we are able to offset some of our expenses for the season. Inviting friends & family to games not only supports the players on the court, but the program as a whole!
